A day trip from Juneau, the Tracy Arm Fjord with its Sawyer Glaciers is a must see on a visit to Alaska. Here are some pictures we took on 7/23/12, and a link to a YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTR2PMPvc5A (not mine).
The glacier actively "calved" for the 2 hours we floated in the bay, with harbor seals floating on blocks of ice. It was spectacular!

The view is ever-changing as the glacier calves and more ice pieces join the others and move around from the impact of their fall - you can see a few seals on the middle right of this ;picture. |
